On the Third Day of Christmas...

On the third day of Christmas, TCSAR gave to me…commitment to community.

Helping the entire community is at TCSAR’s core. Few things demonstrate this more than the team assisting the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole during the Old Bill’s Rubber Ducky Regatta, part of the biggest fundraiser of the year for every nonprofit in the valley.

So the volunteers don the dry suits, jump into Flat Creek, and keep those duckies swimming (while also testing their shallow water navigation skills).

On the Second Day of Christmas...

On the second day of Christmas, TCSAR gave to me… super pro high-angle rigging.

After a lot of practice, that is!

Rigging for rescue is just one of the many disciplines the volunteers attempt to master during their extensive SAR training. The skill is critical to help someone who is injured in steep, technical terrain.

Learning the ropes takes time and dedication, attention to detail, and just a wee bit of untangling.

It's the 12 Days of Christmas! Follow along as we celebrate the holidays in SAR style.

Teton County Search & Rescue volunteers know that what they do is serious. Which is why it’s so important to find moments of laughter and beauty—in each other, in nature, and in their occasional wipeouts. Over these next 12 days of Christmas, we’ll be bringing you some of these lighter moments that help the volunteers stay resilient to keep coming back for more.

On this, the first day of Christmas, TCSAR gave to me…the strength to try, try again! TCSAR volunteers put in more than 5,000 hours of training in 2022, and it doesn’t always go to plan. But that’s why they do it—over and over and over. They brush it off, climb back in the saddle, and hit the throttle to make sure they can be there when ‘you’ fall off.

Thank you for supporting this team. Happy Holidays!
