Several months ago, when we set out to produce a virtual Wyoming Snow and Avalanche Workshop, we knew we had a steep mountain to climb. Like you, we are social animals: As much as we enjoy a solitary schuss in the woods, we know that getting together with friends during the colder, darker months—whether in an auditorium or on a mountainside—makes everything better.
So we couldn't be more thankful for your support and participation for this year's online WYSAW. We hope that you were able to come away with something new that you can apply to your own life as a backcountry user. You also helped us raise critical funds for the team of volunteers at Teton County Search and Rescue. We had over 1,000 people register, more than double the last two years. Entrance donations came to $6,235, while the raffle generated over $11,000 that will go toward helping the team continue to save lives in the Jackson Hole backcountry. We also want to express our thanks to our premier sponsors: First Net built with AT&T, Stephen P. Adamson Jr. Memorial Fund, Bridger Teton Avalanche Center, Central Wyoming College-Jackson, and Backcountry Zero.
If you weren't able to catch the event, or want to come back to review presentations you may have missed, we'll soon be posting recordings of each speaker and panel discussion on this WYSAW. Stay tuned for that.
Thank you again for watching WYSAW.
